The Data General DG-40G-LR-SM1310 is a high-performance 40 Gbps QSFP+ optical transceiver designed for long-range single-mode fiber applications. It operates using four CWDM wavelengths (1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm) that are multiplexed into a single optical signal, enabling reliable 40G transmission up to 2 km over standard single-mode fiber (SMF).

Compliant with IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-IR4, QSFP+ MSA, and SFF-8436, this module ensures broad interoperability with 40G-capable switches, routers, and data center equipment. On the receive side, the optical signal is de-multiplexed back into four channels, each converted into electrical data streams.

The module supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) via a 2-wire serial interface, allowing real-time monitoring of temperature, supply voltage, bias current, and optical transmit and receive power. Featuring a hot-pluggable QSFP+ form factor, low power consumption, and robust EMI performance, the DG-40G-LR-SM1310 is an ideal solution for data center interconnects, enterprise backbones, and high-speed campus networks requiring stable 40G connectivity over single-mode fiber.
