DG-S5310-24G4X Layer 3 Switch – High-Performance Aggregation with 10G Uplinks

The DG-S5310-24G4X is a powerful Layer 3 Gigabit aggregation switch from Data General, designed to operate at the aggregation or core layer of professional and enterprise networks. It features 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports combined with 4 × 10G SFP+ uplink ports, delivering high switching capacity, low latency, and excellent scalability for modern network architectures.

Unlike PoE-focused access switches, the DG-S5310-24G4X is optimized for high-speed data aggregation and routing, making it ideal for consolidating traffic from multiple access switches and wireless infrastructures. Its 10G SFP+ uplinks ensure bottleneck-free connections to core networks, servers, or data centers, supporting high-throughput applications and dense WiFi deployments.

Thanks to its Layer 3 capabilities, the DG-S5310-24G4X enables advanced routing, network segmentation, and traffic control directly at the switch level. This improves performance, enhances network resilience, and reduces the load on external routers or firewalls in medium and large infrastructures.

The switch is perfectly suited for enterprise buildings, hotels, campuses, hospitals, educational institutions, industrial networks, and data-intensive environments, where reliability, performance, and scalability are critical. It is especially attractive for system integrators designing structured networks with a clear separation between access, aggregation, and core layers.

By combining 24 Gigabit access ports, advanced Layer 3 functionality, and 10G uplinks, the DG-S5310-24G4X provides a robust, future-ready switching platform for professional network backbones.
